4th Grade Andy Warhol Blotted Line Drawings

I was inspired to do this lesson after an inservice at another teacher's classroom. I was already teaching Warhol but now I had a focus. It is his Blotted Line Drawings. We painting the neon paint in the background first. Then we drew the animal with pencil. After that we painted over the sketch with ink. While the ink was still wet, we pressed (blotted) another piece of paper on top!

3rd Grade Abstract Weaving

Jackson Pollock "Action Painting to create the loom. Construction paper to weave. Only a few tears were shed while in the process of weaving. The rulers were the main cause, not following directions was the other.

Picasso/Pollock Portraits

I know that these are a little out there but what can I say, I love it. We studied Picasso and his portraits! We looked at how he moved the placement of the facial features. Then we splatter "Action Painted" on top. Hello Modern Art!

Pop heARTS

Oil Pastels then a color wash of the complement on top! We talked about Jim Dine, Andy Warhol, Shade, Tint and Pop Art!

5th grade Donors Choose Project

Here are our 5th grade art club "Safety Blankets". The goal was to Pay it Forward. I taught two kids. Then they taught two friends. They all worked together and it was a wonderful experience.

Journal/ Sketchbook

I needed a journal but I wanted it to be homemade instead of bought. It is time to throw out my painting mats. So I cut them up and put a rubber band around them. Ta-Daaa. I love it and b/c it is the kiddos mess it makes it more personal! I think it is pretty cool!
